Mom and Tots 2-3
Is an introductory art class for children 2-3 years, which runs for one hour. Mom and Tots encompasses several different activities throughout the hour, allowing time for your tot to socialize with other children, play games, sing songs, enjoy story time and experiment with all different art mediums.
Mom and Tots sparks interest in color and texture at a young age and encourages work on fine motor skills through crafts projects that include working with glue, scissors, paint, clay, and so much more. All the skills learned through Mom and Tots are transferable into school and childcare settings, and advances their skills through early experimentation.
Little Magic Fingers 4-5
Is for ages 4-5 years, and runs for one hour. This course is designed to introduce young artists to the basic concepts of art. Students will review terminology and skills learned in school settings (colours, shapes, forms, materials, etc) to encourage more interest and advance to a new level. Little Magic Fingers allows your child to explore and experiment with all different mediums of art, and is designed to inspire creativity, imagination and encourages children to discover mediums they love, and develop their own style.
Children’s Art 6-9
Is for children ages 6-9 years, and runs for an hour and a half. This is a multi-media art class designed to encourage students to pursue a higher understanding of the art they create. The course offers young artists an opportunity to develop and enhance the technical skills and theoretical knowledge they are learning in school programs. Classes are often based upon famous works and techniques allowing students to explore art history and learning how art theory plays a role in communicating their own message. Through diverse mediums children will engage in new methods of creating art, working towards a comfort level with the materials that allow the students to express themselves.
Children’s Art 10-14
Is for children ages 10-14, and runs for an hour and a half. This is a mixed-media class that challenges adept students to purse a higher understanding of the art they create. Students will learn technical skills and theoretical knowledge that will allow them to enhance their own art styles, whilst still exploring and learning about different mediums. Art history and art theory play an important role in this class, constantly encouraging children to continue to experiment and incorporate different techniques and skills into their own style.
Drawing 6-9
Is for children ages 6-9, and runs for an hour and a half. This class is a paper and mark-making medium class that teaches students who show a passion for drawing early on, how to enhance their own skills and techniques. Students will be encouraged to expand their skills to incorporate less traditional practices of drawing. Through diverse mediums students will learn about art history and the importance of art theory in their pieces.
Drawing 10-14
Is for children ages 10-14, and runs for an hour and a half. This class is a paper and mark-making medium class that encourages students to expand on traditional practices of drawing. This course offers young artists an opportunity to hone their technical skills and engage in new methods of creating art, while still allowing them space to self direct their own pieces. Through diverse mediums, students will learn about moments in history, how art theory plays an important role in communicating your message, and encourages students to further enhance their own styles, whilst still integrating new skills into their own works.
Painting 6-9
Is for children ages 6-9, and runs for an hour and a half. This class is created for young students who show a passion for painting. Students will experiment with different mediums and styles of painting. Students will refer to famous pieces and traditional styles of painting, while exploring different and less traditional styles of painting. Through different mediums, students will learn about moments in history, how art theory plays an important role in communicating your message, and encourages students to further enhance their own styles, whilst still integrating new skills into their own works.
Painting 10-14
Is for children ages10-14, and runs for an hour and a half. This class is created for students who shown a passion for painting. Acrylic Painting 10-14
Is for ages 10-14 and runs for two hours. This class is for students who want to focus on painting. This class focuses on independent projects, and is self directed in terms of choosing what image to paint, the length and size of the project. Our teacher works one on one to enhance the student’s individual projects, while still integrating lessons and skills that benefit the class as a whole.
Teen Portfolio 14-18
Is for young adults ages 14-18, and runs for an hour and a half. This class is for young artists who show great enthusiasm for art, and would like to pursue art throughout and secondary and post-secondary school. This class encourages early preparation of their own art portfolios that allow them to see their own progress through stages. Much of the course focuses on the importance of creating a portfolio and developing personal sketch books. This is mixed media course that allows students to further experiment with different mediums, and develop their own style. Teacher will continue to educate students on art history, theory, technical and theoretical skills, but allow students to become very personal and self directed with their own pieces.
Teen Photography 13-18
This class is for young adults ages 13-18, and runs for an hour and a half. Teen photography teaches students important elements of photography including how to use their personal cameras, and learn to become familiar with its different settings and capabilities. Elements including composition and lighting become major focuses of the class, while still being encouraged to be flexible and constantly experimenting in this representational medium.
Adult Paint/Drawing
This class runs for 2 or 3 hours, depending on the class choice. Adult painting and drawing is created for all artsistic levels, welcoming beginner and intermediate students. This class is a self directed class in terms of the size, time, and choice of each piece. Our teachers work one on one with students and thier independent projects, working with each persons own artistic style. Teachers will do studys that pertain to all students projects (Ie: fabric studies) and work with each person individually to apply and develop thier pieces using these studied skills and techniques.
